About Water of Life

Over 1.1 billion people (around 1 in 8 of the world’s population) are without access to safe water. Every day, women and children face the hardship of collecting water from long distances for their families. Once home, this dirty water endangers lives and prevents children from growing up into strong, healthy adults.

Compassion Water of Life tackles the urgent needs in developing countries today – providing safe drinking water to children and their families.

Working in partnership with local churches, Compassion identifies children who are in need of safe water and provides them with Compassion Water of Life, a simple but powerful system that gives a child a lifetime of safe water.

Compassion Water of Life provides:

  • Safe water for life (over 1 million gallons) for a child and his or her family in developing countries.
  • Education for improving hygiene and sanitation.
  • Support for improving community water sources where needed.

Providing safe drinking water is just one aspect of Compassion’s holistic child development model that begins in the earliest stages of a child’s life and continues through young adulthood. One-on-one, this long-term model benefits more than one million children and equips them with everything they need to become independent adults.
